Had a much better day than yesterday. My Mom got a new dog and wanted me to come take some pictures of her. Her name is Ruby and is the sweetest little pup ever. My Mom says she is the easiest puppy she has ever had. The pictures I took look a ton better than on the blog. I’ve tried everything to get them to look better when uploaded to the web. I did the same processing on all 3 and yet they all look different and sucky. I promise I am much better than this.

Isn’t she cute!?!?! I told my Mom I needed a fishy lens just for her. LOL

June 25th, 2008

Well today I was doing all of the yardwork since my cast is off and my foot wasn’t killing me today. It was really nice outside and not the 112 degree weather we had last week. Jake and the dogs were out playing on the patio. My Golden Retriever starts barking at the sliding glass door, but she was looking towards the top of it. I go over and look up and find a 3+ft king snake right above the doorway. I know they aren’t poisonous but they do stink, and hurt when they bite. So I carefully open the door praying he didn’t fall, throw Jake and both dogs in the house. I told Jake to go get me a wire hanger from Daddy’s pants on the bed (thank God for dry cleaning) and a pillow case. Sean came home early today and found me making a hook to grab something. He asked what I was doing and so I said I needed to catch the snake before he got to a bird’s nest. He flew into the house, got my camera and a pair of pliers. *Good hubby* I finish making the hook and of course he was in the nest by then. Sean is making me get the snake out of there! He is 6ft 9in and making his short wife stand under the eves of the house waiting for a snake to drop out. What a MAN! HA!
So he drops out but unfortunately he got a bird. This is the 3 set of babies for this mommy and daddy bird. I felt bad but kinda glad he was preoccupied and couldn’t bite me if he tried.

I took the first 2 pics because Sean freaked and said he wasn’t getting close to that thing. The rest he took, and please excuse my dirty feet and yardwork clothes.

Four years ago today, God decided to take away my best friend. I didn’t know what to do or what to think. I was just so angry! Why MY Grandpa? Why NOW? This man was my Dad I never had and I was his “Little Pal”. I moved back to LA to be near him. He was always there, with camera in hand ready to take a million pictures. Little did I know that God in fact had a plan for me. Of course I didn’t find this out till mid- June.

He always brings a smile to my face just like his Great-Grandpa. My only wish is that my Grandpa could have met him.

Thank you all for the wonderful and encouraging compliments on yesterday’s post. I hope to get a few of these pictures printed nice and big. I gave this one to my Mom today at the hospital. She was missing Jake and I didn’t want to take him in case he freaked out because she was in a hospital gown and couldn’t sit up well.

Boy have I been busy! I did manage to get away for the day and take Jake to the beach. I have many more shots but this was one of my favorites.

It’s been awhile since I posted, but life just takes over sometimes. I got my Expodisc today and decided to torture my dogs and kid. It’s kinda hard when both dogs don’t want to work, but at least one is smart enough to work for turkey. Jake wanted to pick up a few things from the dollar bins at Target for him and the dogs to wear. I know he’s a little strange. LOL

Well I decided to try and play with my flash a little last night. I know these aren’t the best but I’m hoping I got the eye pop action to work on the colored one.

Well DH and I have dealt with food poisoning all day since 4am. I will never eat at that fish and chip place again! Thank God Jake was in a mood and didn’t want to eat his dinner. I did manage to remember about the eclipse just as it was coming out of the shadow. We didn’t have the clearest night, but I am definatly in love with my little $13 remote. I don’t think it’s too bad for a beginner. I did shot in Raw + JPEG. I can’t remember my settings, but I just followed the ones in Scott Kelby’s book.

What a lazy Sunday. Didn’t do a darn thing till DH got home from work at 4. I did manage to get the grocery shopping done with out someone wanting every cookie he sees. So I come home and wonder why the house is so quiet. They are both in my DH’s office playing the Wii. So after dinner I let him play it some more, just so it’s quiet just for a little bit longer. Please excuse the dirty face and unbrushed hair, I did not want to hear the tantrum for that. He’s been in a mood today. Gotta love the tongue out for concentration.

Well my finger felt much better today. I can’t believe half of my nail is gone. Ugh! So I went to JC Pennys today and they had a whole bunch of stuff on sale. Jake needed shorts because California’s weather is so unpredictable. Found such cute stuff cheap! So here is one outfit we got, and Jake ran in the house wanting to take pictures with pretty flowers. So here they are and any CC is welcome. I didn’t mean to center him the whole time, but I had to crop out alot of my backyard, because it looks horrible right now. TFL
